1. Update your Facebook status make sure you include this link www.pin.bbm.com/1234ABcd (but with your BBM PIN after the backslash) 
You can also send the same link as a post on a friends wall or in a direct message or comment.

2. When your Facebook friends click the link while on their mobile device, if they have already downloaded BBM the App will instantly open up to the 'Invite By Pin' screen in BBM with your PIN automatically populated. They click SEND and an Invite will automatically be sent to you. Once you accept their invitation, they will instantly be added to your Contact List.

If your Facebook friend has not already downloaded BBM the link will direct them to the download flow. And it's that easy! We are once again reunited with BBM! Happy BBM'ing relapsing CrackBerry addicts!

Will the World Relapse into CrackBerry Addiction Once Again?

All I'm hearing about is bad press for BlackBerry (so what else is new?) 

But what I'm really interested in is the fact that 1.1 million people actually downloaded BBM in the AppStore and another million (just guessing) impatient people downloaded the leaked version for Android. Where are the reviews for the App? Where are the first impressions? Relapsed CrackBerry addicts where you at? 

Were you able to download the App? If you actually did download it, it's not that much fun to use unless all your friends are on it too. But don't fret, soon you won't be alone. Hopefully BlackBerry can recover from the worst rollout ever and gain back people's trust.

How to Set your BBM Animated Avatar on iPhone

So you downloaded the BBM App for iPhone...but you can't get your BBM avatar to animate like your BlackBerry and Android friends? 

Currently, iOS does not support setting animated GIFs from the iPhone image gallery or 'Camera Roll'. So if you are saving and setting your avatar this way - you can still use the avatars, however there will be no animation. Booooo!

But there is a way!!!!

Until BlackBerry fixes this issue you can only set the animated avatar by stealing your friends avatars from your contact list. Not the nicest solution but hey it works...

Here's How:

1. Start a chat with the friend who has a cool avatar that you want

2. Tap the header displaying your friend's name and animated avatar in the chat window 

3. In the User Profile tap on the animated avatar

4. In the BBM Display Picture preview select the arrow icon in the top right corner

5. Select the option to 'Set as BBM Display Picture' and you're done!

How to Set your BBM Animated Avatar on Android

1. Choose your Animated Avatar 

Go to AvatarAddict.com and choose from a variety of Animated Avatars

2. Save your Avatar 

Touch and hold the avatar you like until the menu appears, select 'Save Image' to save the avatar to your image gallery. 

3. Set your Animated Avatar

Open BBM, select your name on the top of the screen to enter your own BBM 'My Profile' page.  
Touch your current avatar to edit it, select 'Replace Picture'until menu appears, choose 'Select Picture'to open your image gallery. 
The latest avatar you saved should appear here.

Simply select the avatar you want as your display pic and you're done!!

Tap on the image filename once the download is completed. 

You will see a full screen preview of the animated avatar. Tap the 'More' icon on the bottom right corner.

Choose 'Set As' menu option, Choose 'BBM Picture'

Simply select the avatar you want as your display pic and you're done!!

So we all know that as far as interacting via real time internet based instant messengers BlackBerry Messenger takes the cake. As our mobile devices become more and more a part of who we are and how we communicate with each other is there then an unspoken etiquette or better yet, 'netiquette' we need to adhere to?  With BlackBerrys widely used in corporations, both office and business etiquette overlap with the basic online social conventions, right?  Actually, I think most of us with a company BlackBerry use BBM for our more 'non-professional' conversations because people feel that these are not tracked the way email can be.  Chatting via BBM is basically the closest thing you can have 'virtually speaking' to a real conversation, and that is why it has become so popular outside of the office. But a lot can still be lost in translation. So how does one navigate through the world of BlackBerry Messaging without offending?

Be aware of response times.  One feature of BlackBerry Messenger is the real-time confirmations when messages are delivered and read. The sender knows when you have received and read their message and therefore also if you have decided to ignore them.
Keep your contact list relevant. Adding new contacts is easy by simply scanning QR codes or sharing PINs but you don't want your contact list to get out of hand. Especially when you are sharing a mass message or photos or videos with multiple contacts at once. Not everyone cares about your broadcasted message that was really only meant for a select few.
Respect peoples' status` The recipient receives the all too familiar little chirp when they receive a new message and if their device is on silent or vibrate they will still receive that blinking light that tells them they've received a new message or email. If the contact has indicated they are busy in their status don't bombard them with messages. If they are like me, they won't be able to ignore those message notifications.
It's like a real conversation – Start with a greeting and Say goodbye.  I'd say this is dependent on the nature of the relationship with your contact. If it's a business contact, work colleague or someone who you don't always message then the proper greetings and farewells are the polite thing to do. With my closer or more personal contacts the conversation never really ends so the formalities aren't always necessary.
Choose your words wisely.  With the ability to save chat history you better stand by your words. Ever been in a dispute where you swore up and down that you had no clue you had to go with your girlfriend to visit her parents only to find out that on Saturday at exactly 10:23PM you sent her a BBM promising to be there. It can be damaging in other scenarios but I'd say significant others are most likely to use the recorded conversation histories to their advantage.
